OFFICIAL: Real Madrid announces Mbappe’s shirt number

Kylian Mbappe will wear the renowned number 9 shirt for Real Madrid in 2024/25, but Endrick’s shirt number is unknown.

Real Madrid has announced its 2024/25 shirt numbers, representing the generational changeover and the club’s high hopes.

Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, is the focus.

This announcement’s major highlight is Kylian Mbappe’s shirt number, Real Madrid’s huge transfer before Euro 2024. After Karim Benzema leaves in 2023, the French star will wear shirt number 9.

This is a big change for Mbappe, who previously wore number 10 for France and number 7 for PSG. Only once, in a French National Cup encounter in February 2017, did Mbappe wear the number 9 shirt.

Mbappe’s shirt number 9 emphasises his importance to Real Madrid and is a savvy marketing move. Real Madrid intends to recuperate a major amount of the French striker’s 15 million euro salary through shirt sales.

In addition to Mbappe, numerous Real Madrid players altered their shirt numbers. Federico Valverde will wear Toni Kroos’ number 8 after he retires. Arda Guler, a Euro 2024 breakout star, will advance from 24 to 15.

Captain Nacho Fernandez left and Eduardo Camavinga became number 6. After returning from Granada, Jesus Vallejo will wear number 18 and Aurelien Tchouameni number 14.

One name with an unconfirmed shirt number is young Brazilian star Endrick. The 17-year-old’s arrival is pending before the club announces it.

El Chiringuito TV reports that Endrick will wear the number 16 shirt, although Real Madrid has not verified this because he is under 18 and cannot sign a contract.

The release of new shirt numbers is normal but reflects Real Madrid’s strategy and outlook for the season. Mbappe and Endrick, Guler, and Camavinga are part of the Royals’ upcoming roster. This should be a fantastic season for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid will be watched closely in the 2024/25 season to determine if this big investment pays off. Real Madrid is on track for a new era of glory at the Santiago Bernabeu with a star-studded roster and sustainable growth strategy.
