Ilia Topuria, the UFC featherweight champion, was greeted with crowd support prior to Real Madrid’s match against Sevilla. After that, he entered into a photo op with both groups of participants.

At UFC 298 earlier this month, the 27-year-old astonished everyone by striking out Alexander Volkanovski to become the first Spanish UFC champion.

A substantial right from Topuria that passed over Big ‘The Great’s’ shoulder and onto his jaw at the Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, resulted in his elimination.

Since then, several of Topuria’s compatriots have been exceptionally kind to him on social media; at the Santiago Bernabeu, he is currently receiving an enormous reception.

Real Madrid triumphed over Sevilla 1-0 on Sunday evening on the strength of a late strike by Luka Modric. Prior to the start of the match, Topuria was introduced to the field.

The UFC champion was spotted in photographs with the featherweight championship and players from both Madrid and Sevilla subsequent to his exit from the arena.

Jude Bellingham, Thibaut Courtois, Sergio Ramos, and David Alaba all posed for a photo with the UFC superstar. The contest was skipped by Bellingham due to an illness.

The official Real Madrid Instagram account posted a photo of the champion with the following caption upon his victory: “Congratulations, @IliaTopuria, on your tremendous victory for Spanish sport.”

“As a huge Madrid supporter, we are ecstatic that you won the UFC world championship.”

Although Topuria was born in Georgia, he spent his childhood in Spain. He has previously expressed his desire to compete for his nation.

In 2020, Topuria expressed to the UFC, “I feel indescribable due to the tremendous support I receive from both Spain and Georgia.” 

“I feel fantastic, and no one has ever said anything derogatory to me, such as “Why don’t you represent Georgia or Spain instead?” I have always received assistance and kindness from others, and I adore it.

“Although I was born and raised in Georgia, I consider Spain to be my home.” “Okay, I guess I’m Georgian,” I am unable to sаy, since I learned mixed martial arts and currently train and reside in Spain. Spain was instrumental in shaping my current self. 

Luka Modric scored the game-winning goal at the Santiago Bernabeu, granting Real Madrid a narrow victory over Ramos’ Sevilla, by traveling back in time.

The former Real Madrid captain returned to the Bernabeu for the first time since departing the club two years prior. It appeared for an extended period of 85 minutes that he would finish with a point and a clean sheet, but his former comrade Modric had other plans.

The substitute for the 38-year-old arrived in the 75th minute. The Croatian received the ball after Ramos cleared Fede Valverde’s cross; with his initial contact, he lined up a thunderous shot into the net.
