The center back will be out for at least two months, but United is sure he’ll be back before the end of the season.While Ten Hag thinks about how to substitute Martinez, Luke Shaw could move into the middle of defense.
However, Victor Lindelof is now healthy and ready again, as are Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, and Jonny Evans.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s health is in question after the right back had a setback in training on Thursday.
Seven days before the game, Ten Hag told reporters, “Aaron Wan-Bissaka was training today but then he dropped out. I don’t know where he is right now or what the diagnosis is.”
“I hope he’s not too bad.”
If Wan-Bissaka doesn’t play, Shaw is likely to stay at left back. Diogo Dalot is the only other fit full-back and plays on the right side of defense.
Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia are still not ready to play for United again, and Anthony Martial is still not ready to play either.
