Anthony Davis might not be able to play on Thursday against the Denver Nuggets. The nine-time NBA All-Star has been an All-Star in every game since November 6. Davis has been hurt more than once, but those injuries have only kept him out of four games. He has played very well and looked fit for most of the time.
Through 48 games, AD has scored 24.7 points, grabbed 12.3 rebounds, given out 3.9 assists, and blocked 2.4 shots, while hitting 55.3%. He’s one of the most likely winners of the Defensive Player of the Year award.
To honor him, the Lakers will wear the “Black Mamba” jersey, which they first released in 2018 as a “City Edition” jersey and famously wore during their 17th title run in the “Orlando Bubble” playoffs of 2020.
Where did Anthony Davis go?
Anthony Davis has problems with both of his Achilles tendinopathies and his hips spasming. Davis hurt his hip in December during a game on November 6 against the Miami Heat. He has hurt it again several times, most recently when the Lakers beаt the Charlotte Hornets 124–118.
The Achilles issue has been bothering him since January 18. The problem is that he has too much to do since late January of last year. From that time until now, he’s been. He might have pаin from the ιnjury for the rest of the season until he can take a lot of time off and heal.
Davis has averaged 23.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 29 games against the Nuggets. He has a 13–16 record against teams from the Western Conference. Davis’s last game against the Nuggets was the first night of the 2023–24 season.
The Lakers’ big man had a terrible game because he only scored 17 points on 35.3% shooting. The Lakers lost 119–107, which was their sixth straight loss to the Nuggets, going back to the previous season and the 4-0 sweep in the 2023 conference playoffs.
This Thursday might be a whole different game for Davis because he’s learned better ways to score points. He can easily avoid double teams now that he can pass the ball better. Davis has had 11 assists twice this season, which is the most in his career.
On defense, Davis has more help now that Rui Hachimura has been added to the starting group to replace Taurean Prince. The front line is bigger.
