Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid met on the opponent’s field this morning (January 19) in the 1/8 round of the Spanish King’s Cup. Real Madrid vanquished Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Suρer Cup a few days ago. However, when the two teams met again, Los Blancos were unable to replicate that victory.

The team of Carlot Ancelotti struggled to an early start and conceded the lead in the 39th minute. At the conclusion of the first half, however, the Royal Spanish team managed to equalize the score 1-1.

As a result of their home field advantage, Atletico Madrid played with tremendous determination in the second half. Rapid attacks by the visiting team at the Metropolitano Stadium led to defensive cоnfusiоn and errors for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid’s defense committed an error in the 57th minute, which was capitalized on by Álvaro Morata, who extended the lead to 2-1. But Joselu’s outstanding performance in the 82nd minute restored the game to its original state, forcing both teams to play extra time.

Clearly, the physical stamina of Real Madrid players diminished during extra time. Possibly for this reason, the White Vultures’ defense made numerous errors and conceded two more goals in the eleventh and eleventh minutes, resulting in a 2-4 loss to their opponents.

This defeat dashed Real Madrid’s hopes of claiming three victories for the season. The Royal Spanish team will allocate its resources and endeavors towards both the La Liga arena and the European Cup. In the interim, Atletico Madrid will persist in its pursuit of victory in the Spanish King’s Cup.
