Former Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich thinks Erik ten Hag’s recent setback will not lead to his dismissal, but he does not know when his long-term status will be resolved.

Manchester United lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich, finishing bottom in Group A behind leaders Bayern, Copenhagen, and Galatasaray.

Ten Hag is on thin ice after the team’s poorest UEFA Champions League performance to date.

“When we all saw the draw at the start – and I saw Manchester United’s draw – I thought this is a relatively straightforward group,” Bosnich stated during Stan Sport broadcast.

“You just heard what the analysts said; eight points dropped from first place.” Fifteen goals were surrendered, second only to Royal Antwerp in this Champions League group stage. It is the first time in Champions League history that an EPL team has surrendered 15 goals in the group stage. To be honest, I was disappointed.

”You try to make something good out of anything, even something as bad as this.” We spoke to (Guardian writer) Andy Brassell earlier in the group stage, and he believed Erik ten Hag’s ship was the safest in the harbor at the time, but I recall telling him, ‘What if he is knocked out in the Champions League?’ ‘That might change,’ he added.
