R. Kelly is facing a lawsuit from the owner of two properties he had been renting in Duluth, GA. The lawsuit, filed by SB Property Management Global, seeks $203,400 in damages, much of which is attributed to a burglary and damages allegedly caused by the singer.

One of the properties, a 23-room mansion on Old Homestead Trail, was supposed to be rented for $11,542.45 per month. The lawsuit claims extensive damage to the mansion, including electrical work, flooring, windows, and various rooms such as the kitchen, living room, bathrooms, gym, cigar room, and theater. Additionally, numerous items, including a stove, bedroom furniture, and 22 light fixtures, were reported missing.

The second property, a four-bedroom home on Saint Devon Crossing rented for $3,000 per month, was allegedly left with trash and other issues.

While the damages reportedly occurred during a burglary by someone other than R. Kelly, the lawsuit holds him responsible. Real estate experts suggest that renters, including celebrities, should have adequate insurance coverage to protect against theft or damage not caused by them. Additionally, landlords should conduct thorough interviews and background checks to avoid problematic tenants.
