Floyd Mayweather Scores Lavish $18M Mansion on Miami’s Iconic Beachfront

Former boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has recently invested $18M in a stunning new waterfront mansion in Miami Beach. The contemporary residence spans three stories and is located on the prestigious and secure Palm Island, an exclusive enclave where home prices surged by an astonishing 200% from 2020 to July 2023, with the average asking price reaching $21M.

At the age of 44, Mayweather earned the title of the highest-earning athlete of the decade according to Forbes in 2019, amassing a staggering $915 million in earnings over a ten-year span. Records indicate that he acquired this property last week through a limited liability company based in Nevada, where he holds a managerial position.

Encompassing an impressive 10,853 square feet, the luxurious new residence offers unhindered vistas of the city skyline, passing cruise ships, and the coveted city sunset, as detailed in the listing by Dina Goldentayer and Ana Viyella of Douglas Elliman. This lavish nine-bedroom mansion was meticulously designed for both indoor and outdoor enjoyment, featuring tastefully sleek interiors. Notable amenities include an indoor movie theater, a well-equipped gym, a recreational game room, a spacious entertainment area, cutting-edge smart home systems, and a convenient elevator.

The property further boasts a rooftop deck, a refreshing pool, a four-car garage, and a private dock with the capacity to accommodate boats up to 100 feet in length. The transaction was managed by Tanasha Pettigrew of Galleria International Realty, who represented Mayweather in the negotiation process.

This recent acquisition is the latest addition to Mayweather’s expanding real estate portfolio, which already includes an extravagant Las Vegas mansion purchased in 2018 for $10 million, as well as a French Modern-style estate in Beverly Hills that he acquired in 2017 for $26 million.

Mayweather, who earned a bronze medal as a featherweight at the 1996 Olympics, retired with an undefeated record in August 2017. Despite the request for comment, a representative for the boxer has yet to issue a response.
