EURO 2024’s first group stage match has ended, however many stars have had to miss the tournament or group stage.
Croatian media reported yesterday that plaid shirt midfielder Nikola Vlasic ended EURO 2024. The Croatian Football Federation website confirmed: “Vlasic will resign from national team headquarters. Muscle ailment will keep him out of EURO 2024.”
Vlasic lamented: “This injury will hinder me from aiding the squad. I did my best. Thanks to everyone for the chance. I trust this team and wish it well.”
Nikola Vlasic has 56 Croatian appearances and 8 goals. Perhaps only Modric or Kovacic are more significant than the 27-year-old midfielder. Croatia will lose a second-line shooter without him.
For Serbian midfielder Filip Kostic, EURO 2024 has concluded. A Juventus player was injured in the 0-1 loss against England. Tests showed Kostic had left knee ligament injury. According to Tuttosport, Kostic will return to Juventus for treatment after two weeks of recovery.
Kylian Mbappe could be the best example. Le Figaro reported that he will miss the final two group stage matches against the Netherlands on June 21 and Poland on June 25 due to a nose issue.
Mbappe can wear a mask, but the French coaching staff wants to protect his health. Therefore, they kept him for the 1/8 round and trusted Kolo Muani, Thuram, or Giroud.
