The former Paris-Saint-Germain player received a luxurious private room with a balcony at Real Madrid’s £100m training complex. Many called Mbappe, 25, “the most expensive free transfer in football history” when he joined Los Blancos last week.
Mbappe found that Real Madrid players get free rooms at the training complex. Video from Spanish television channel Conexion Deportiva shows Mbappe’s name on a Real Madrid training ground room door.
Player-specific rooms with huge balconies overlooking impressive training fields require a fingerprint. Mbappe’s bathroom is larger than most apartments, like a 5-star hotel. The walls are shiny white with the Real Madrid insignia shining. 2018 World Cup champion Mbappe stayed in room 103.
The building spans over 7,800 square metres and features a swimming pool, sports room, cinema and 57 bedrooms. The £100 million Real Madrid training centre built in 2005.
Mbappe’s Real Madrid private room may have been Toni Kroos’. After retiring last week, Kroos, 34, left the club, leaving the room unoccupied. Kroos will “hang up his shoes” after joining Germany for the Euro 2024 finals at home.
