Chelsea player Kylian Mbappe has finally said that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
The winner of the World Cup posted an emotional video on social media in which he said he would not be making a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain. This ended rumors about his future with the club.
The news came after a long time of not knowing if the 25-year-old would sign a new deal with the Ligue 1 club.
There have been a lot of rumors that the star player will move to Real Madrid this summer, and he has hinted that he might do so.
According to Mbappe’s emotional video, he will not only be leaving PSG but also France as a whole. This means that he could move to LaLiga.
“It’s hard, it’s hard,” he said. I had no idea that making that announcement would be so hard.
“To leave my home country of France and Ligue 1, a championship I’ve always known.”
“But I think I needed this, a new challenge after seven years.”
Mbappe didn’t say for sure where he would be playing next season, but he is widely thought to be joining Real Madrid after a long-running saga involving the two clubs.
It looked like the world-famous player would be going to Real Madrid for free in 2022, but he surprised everyone by signing a new deal with PSG instead.
And since that deal is about to end in the summer, it looks like Mbappe will finally move to the 14-time Champions League winners.
Even though they’ve won six league titles and three French cups since he started in 2018, his time at the Parc des Princes hasn’t quite lived up to the hype.
He was signed to help PSG win the Champions League for the first time in their history. The goal-scoring machine is now generally seen as one of the best players in the world.
But after coming from Monaco for £165 million, he never won the famous title, even though he spent most of his time in Paris with Lionel Messi and Neymar, two other great players.
In his message, Mbappe said, “I haven’t always lived up to the love you all gave me for seven years.” This made it sound like he might not have done enough for the fans.
“But I have never wanted to cheat, I have always wanted to be effective.”
He then said that he doesn’t feel bad about switching when he was only 18.
He went on to say, “I don’t regret signing with this prestigious club at all.”
“I will remember that club for the rest of my life.” I’ll always tell everyone that I got to play here.
Many personal awards have been given to him by the club during his time there, where he scored an amazing 255 goals and set up 108 others in 306 games.
PSG has three more league games and the French Cup final to play before the season ends, so they still have time to score more goals.
But Mbappe’s last game at the Parc des Princes will be this Sunday’s match against Toulouse. The rest of his games will all be away from home.
People have been talking about him for the Ballon d’Or for a long time because of how well he has played in Paris for seven years.
While his huge salary and place on the team have always shown how important he is to PSG.
With the deal he made in 2022, Mbappe is thought to have made around £893,000 a week to stay in France.
Real Madrid isn’t willing to pay the same amount of money for the world giant because of how much their stars are paid. The astronomical fee would make some of their stars look like amateurs.
