Real Madrid is content to stick with their two seasoned right-backs, Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez, for at least another season, but that does not meаn they are losing sight of another possible Galactico acquisition.
Vazquez’s contract expires this summer, and it’s widely expected that he’ll sign a one-year extension with the team. The 32-year-old Carvajal’s contract expires in 2025, although Real Madrid is reportedly looking to extend it as well.
They will, nevertheless, keep an eye on Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool, who is also dealing with a contract dispute with the Reds. The current contract for Alexander-Arnold expires in 2025, and Liverpool has not yet signed him to a new agreement. Real Madrid will investigate this market possibility if Alexander-Arnold decides not to extend with Liverpool; obtaining a player of Alexander-Arnold’s caliber for nothing would be quite the coup.
Real Madrid has made it a point to sign some of the top players in Europe who haven’t had contracts renewed since the crisis. David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger are two examples of this, and many predict Kylian Mbappe will join them this summer. Even though Carvajal is still a great right-back, Real Madrid would be stupiԀ to pass up Alexander-Arnold if he is available in order to at least challenge him rather than an aging Vazquez.
