UPDATE: Thomas Tuchel has reportedly relocated CLOSELY to Manchester United in recent weeks, the German strategist also stated that he would like to join the Old Trafford club should a position become available
If the “Red Devils” decide not to retain Erik ten Hag as head coach this summer, Thomas Tuchel is reportedly very interested in taking over.
Coach Tuchel has reportedly relocated “closely” to Manchester United in recent weeks, according to the Telegraph. The German strategist also stated that he would like to join the Old Trafford club should a position become available, according to the British tabloid.
Despite losing the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, which keeps them unbeaten across the board, the Bavarian “Gray Tigers” managed to go to the Champions League semifinals. Tuchel is therefore still in high demand as a coach even after leaving Bayern. The 50-year-old leader is still highly valuable.
Bayern announced in February that head coach Tuchel will depart the squad following the 2023–2024 season, with the team citing “sports reorganization” as a key factor in their decision.
Ten Hag’s activities and actions at the Old Trafford squad are being keenly watched in the meanwhile, following the team’s devastating 0–4 loss to Crystal Palace in the 2023–24 campaign, which marked the “Red Devils” lowest point ever.
With less than two weeks remaining in the Premier League, Manchester United is presently down to eighth place and could have its poorest showing since they were rated thirteenth in 1990.
In addition to coach Tuchel, another contender to take over as head coach of the “Red Devils” in the event that Ten Hag departs is British coach Gareth Southgate. The Telegraph also reports that INEOS, United’s new shareholders, think highly of England’s head coach.
