In addition to his amazing feats on the football field, Marcus Rashford has recently won over the hearts of supporters with his charming friend, Saint, a lovely Can Corso dog.
The football player has been posting pictures of his pet on social media to show off their close relationship and how it helps him relax after tense games.
Known for his charitable work off the field, Rashford has frequently discussed the value of self-care and mentаl health. With its kind and loving disposition, his Can Corso dog has grown to be a source of comfort and relaxation for him. Rashford gets a much-needed break from the demands of playing professional football thanks to the dog’s presence.
Experts in animal welfare, however, are concerned about the image for more reasons than only the dog’s forced placement in the United States.
Campaigners claim that the dog, a Russian Can Corso, has had its ears clipped, which is against the law in the UK and Ireland.
It is against the law to permit the performance of a forbidden procedure on a protected animal, as stated in Section 5 of the Animal Welfare Act of 2006.
Nonetheless, there are still a number of nations where the procedure is acceptable and it is not illegаl to import a dog that has been docked or cropped outside of the nation.
“The RSPCA is opposed to ear cropping,” an RSPCA representative stated. “Ear cropping is a process where ears are removed or surgically altered, often for appearance purposes.”
“Ear cropping is painful, completely unnecessary, and prohibited in Wales and England.” It can be harmful to the dog’s behavior, health, and welfare and offers no benefits at all. Animals shouldn’t be disfigured for aesthetic reasons, in our opinion.
Although it is prohibited by Section 5 of the Animal Welfare Act of 2006, we regret to inform you that we believe ear cropping occurs in England and Wales, and some dogs are imported from overseas with clipped ears.
“We strongly advise against purchasing a dog with cropped ears since it has already gone through this incredibly traumatic procedure.”
Rashford purchased his puppy from Chaperone K9, a family-run company in Leicestershire that specializes in offering personal and family protection dogs. Rashford missed United’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle on Sunday.
“The RSPCA should know better than anyone that there are no companies in the UK that promote or carry out cropping or docking,” company director Richard Douglas stated, confirming that his company does not crop dogs in the country.
Dogs can enter certain nations where the legal process is still in place, including Hungary, Russia, and the United States. They can be purchased from overseas.
Saint is the newest canine member of the United family; Atom and Humber were the first to arrive when Alexis Sanchez moved to Old Trafford.
