Manchester United’s forward Rasmus Hojlund sustained a muscular ιnjury that is likely to sideline him for two to three weeks. However, Erik ten Hag has expressed confidence in his fellow strikers to perform well.
Hojlund is expected to be absent for the Manchester derby on March 3 in the Premier League, shown live on Sky Sports.
United may be without Hojlund for next league matches against Fulham and Everton as they strive to catch up with their opponents in the race for Champions League qualification.
Hojlund has been Manchester United’s most consistently performing player since the beginning of the year, achieving the record for the youngest player in the Premier League era to score in six consecutive games.
His presence has contributed to United’s victory in four consecutive league games, for the first time this season. This achievement has brought them within three points of fifth-placed Tottenham and five points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.
Hojlund’s ιnjury has left United manager Erik ten Hag with Marcus Rashford as the only choice up top, since Anthony Martial is out for an extended period.
The United manager asserted his confidence in the ability of his оffensive team to perform well, even in the absence of Hojlund.
“Hojlund was recently significant,” he said. “But the primary individual?” My perspective differs. Alejandro Garnacho has been doing really well in recent games.
“‘Rashy’ (Marcus Rashford) is competent.” He has only scored five goals, but he have the ability to score. Recently, our frontline has been a formidable dаnger in our recent games, consistently scoring goals. Is it only Rasmus Hojlund? It’s Garnacho, Rashford, and Scott McTominay. Bruno (Fernandes) is capable of scoring a goal.
“In autumn, the frontline lacked effectiveness and posed no threаt, which is why I lack confidence.” Currently, they are in excellent shape and pose a continuous dаnger. I am convinced that the situation will continue even in the absence of Rasmus Hojlund.
“We can assemble a formidable frontline.” I doubt there is a scenario where the opponent perceives the situation as easy. They will definitely be afraid of our frontline.
United have had two ιnjury setbacks this week, with Luke Shaw being out for “a few months.” The team is anticipating his recovery from his leg ιnjury before the season concludes.
Ten Hag said that all players would have the chance to demonstrate their abilities in response to how he would address the injuries.
“We observed players who were previously unable to play due to lack of opportunity or injuries, but now they will have chances to participate.”
