Toni Kroos, a midfielder for Real Madrid, alluded to a truly absurd speculation that went virtually unnoticed last week: a possible return to Bayern Munich.
Although the notion of concluding one’s career with the same club may have seemed appealing to enthusiasts, it failed to captivate Kroos in any way.
“I anticipated many inquiries regarding my future today; however, this one was unexpecteԀ,” Kroos chuckled (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “I am invariably gratified when an individual invites me to join their team, notwithstanding the veracity of the request. “However, in this instance, I can unequivocally state that will not occur.”
How bizarre was that? Furthermore, where does such folly originate?
In any case, when queried about the possibility of his returning to the German national team, Kroos remained silent and refused to reveаl his cards.
“At this time, I am uncertain.” I have yet to reach a conclusion. It is not impossible. “We shall see,” Kroos stated.
Although a reunion with Bayern Munich is highly improbable, the veteran midfielder appeared to be considering a place with the German national team.
In the coming weeks, Real Madrid midfield legend Toni Kroos will reportedly decide whether or not to return to the Germany national team, according to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic.
Kroos declared his retirement from international football in 2021, immediately following Dier Mannschaft’s lackluster performance at the 2020 UEFA Euro.
However, due to Germany’s scheduled hosting of the European Championships and the team’s underwhelming performance, there have been demands for Kroos to reconsider his retirement decision and rejoin the squad.
The legendary midfielder confirmed earlier this month that he was, in fact, contemplating a return to play for Germany, stating:
“I must make decisions and give considerable thought to my course of action. Whether or not I will compete in the European Championship is unknown. “I am considering returning to Germany, but I am unsure at this time.”
Given that the March international break is approaching in less than a month, it is now anticipated that Kroos will reach a decision and communicate it, at least internally, prior to that date.
In the event that Kroos elects to represent Germany at the Euros, manager Julian Nagelsmann may select him for the international break beginning on March 14. Otherwise, the legendary Real Madrid player will be disqualified from future selection processes.
On March 23, Germany will travel to France for an international friendly before hosting the Netherlands on March 26 in Frankfurt.
