Andriy Lunin—6.5: Barely tested on the day, recording two saves. Excellent distribution, with the exception of one early pass that threatened Camavinga.
A beautiful cross from Lucas Vazquez to Joselu for a goal was appropriately ruled out of bounds. At times, the overloads executed by Alfonso Espino and Alvaro Garcia presented a challenge.
Tchouameni—7: The center back delivered yet another outstanding performance. Obtained a crucial deflection on an RDT attempt subsequent to a subpar exchange between Lunin and Camavinga. His ground duels were all victories, and he dominated the air.
Nacho—6: A stellar performance from Nacho, whose defense was seldom tested.
Fran Garcia—5: Although Fran was more anticipated offensively, he was unable to complement Vini down the left flank.
Eduardo Camavinga—6: Failed to make an impact as one of the deepest midfielders despite occupying that position. After Rayo urged him to choose the ball-carrying option, he produced his finest moments.
Fede Valverde—8: Early in the first half, he assisted Joselu flawlessly by capitalizing on the free space in front of him during a transition. Fede’s trademark moment. A few of the few shining moments in a lackluster contest.
Luka Modric—5: Surprisingly, the Croatian midfielder maintained his form for 87 minutes, given that he had the least influence of the day. His optimal performance requires consistency and cadence, which he is improbable to obtain with this reconstructed Madrid squad.
Vinicius Junior—5.5: Completed less than half of his pass attempts and recorded only 44 touches in the match, which was below his average of 55+. Vini was never able to capitalize, and his influence diminished as the match progressed.
Brahim Diaz—5.5: Similar to Vinicuis, he had a meager 40 touches and was unable to replicate his form from the midweek match in Germany.
7. Joselu: An outstanding first quarter in which he scored his eighth goal of the season and utilized some excellent turn combinations to breach Rayo’s defenses. Eliminated from the contest as Rayo gained the upper hand.
As alternatives:
Toni Kroos (7) had only 20 minutes on the field when she attempted to alter the course of the game but was nearly flawless after entering. She probably should have entered the game earlier.
Rodyrgo—5.5: During his twenty minutes on the field, he, like the other оffensive players in this contest, never fully got going and failed to attempt a single shot.
Dani Carvajal—3: Suspended ineligible for the Sevilla match after receiving a double yellow card for no apparent reason.
Arda Guler, who entered the game in the 87th minute but failed to make a significant impression, was a non-factor.
