Luke Shaw explains what Manchester United want to achieve this season

Luke Shaw has said that even though things haven’t gone as planned this season, there are still goals and aims to be met before the end of the season.

United had a very rough first half of the season. Erik ten Hag’s team finished last in their Champions League group, fell all the way to the bottom of the Premier League table, and lost the Carabao Cup early as champions.

In addition, there was the never-ending takeover story and issues off the field involving Jadon Sancho and Antony.

As United prepare for their game at Aston Villa this Sunday, Shaw gave a fair review of where they are currently and what they hope to achieve this season.

The England player said that United can’t meet the goals they set at the beginning of the season, but that new goals have been set.

“Of course there have been many ups and downs, but I’m really grateful for the good times I’ve had here.” I’m very motivated, and I want to do a lot more here.

“Pay attention to what’s coming up. Each boss I’ve worked with at United has had their own style and set of methods, so things have changed over the course of my time here. Players have also come and gone. I’ve played on teams with many different people.

“Obviously that wasn’t our goal at the beginning of the season; we wаnted to win everything. But we need to be honest with ourselves about where we are now.”

“A club like this should be in the Champions League right now, but we’re still in the FA Cup.” These two things should be our goals. Even though we lost in the FA Cup final last year, that makes us more determined.

It would be easy for that gap to close before the end of the season, but United does not have a lot of time to make mistakes if they want to make it to the Champions League.
