The Los Angeles Lakers’ All-Stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis had their statuses slightly changed before tomorrow’s game against the New York Knicks, who are currently on a nine-game win streak and the hottest team in the East. This comes after James and Davis missed a shоcking 114-105 road upset against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.
It looks like Davis and James are only “questionable” to play, according to Jovan Buha of The Athletic. This is a big step up from “out” or “doubtful.” Davis hasn’t played in the last two LA games because of a bilateral Achilles tendinopathy and a left hip pаin. The Lakers have split those two games, 1-1. James has had a peroneal tendinopathy in his left ankle for a while now.
Small forward Cam Reddish, who recently left the Knicks, power forward Jarred Vanderbilt, and point guard Gabe Vincent are all still out because they are recovering from long-term injuries. Vincent has a sprained right ankle, a sоre right foot, and surgery to remove fluid from his left knee.
The person who plays for Los Angeles tomorrow against New York will have a tough game.
The Knicks are now 32-17 and in third place in the Eastern Conference. They are only half a game behind the 32-16 Milwaukee Bucks, who have lost both of their games since former Knicks point guard Doc Rivers turned into their head coach.
New York has gone 15-3 since getting swingman OG Anunoby and power forward/center Precious Achiuwa from the Toronto Raptors. They’re 12-2 since both players became active, and their defense is very much like the teams that head coach Tom Thibodeau likes to put together.
With ratings of 119.0 for offense and 112.7 for defense, the Knicks are seventh in the league. Teams that are good enough to win a title should usually be in the top 10 in both of those categories. However, the Lakers, who won the championship in 2019-20, were not in the top 10 when it came to offense.
