Kawhi Leonard may live anywhere with a $103 million contract and the prospect of free agency. The Rolls Royce-driving Clippers player spent $17.1 million on a magnificent, conservatively constructed property on a peninsula with stunning ocean views in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles.
Obviously, the 29-year-old Moreno Valley resident has bought expensive real estate before. Leonard still owns the $13.3 million Rancho Santa Fe mansion he bought in 2019. During basketball season, he lives in a $6.7 million condo at the Ritz Carlton Residences at L.A. Live, a skyscraper condo complex that towers above the Staples Center and is home to Lonzo Ball, Jim Buss, and Jason Blum.
Leonard’s third home is a gated, isolated Westside property.82 acres. Ryan Kavanaugh, founder of Relativity Media, built the “custom Hamptons-style home” for himself. Kavanaugh listed his almost 12,000-square-foot mansion for $25 million in February 2019. After two years on and off the market, the asking price dropped to $17.5 million before Leonard offered even less.
House siding is medium grey with white trim and copper gutters. Most hotel public rooms have seaside and hill views. Both rooms have coffered ceilings, foldaway glass doors, and a dual-sided fireplace.
The large kitchen has an eat-in breakfast bar, high-end Wolf and SubZero equipment, and a butler’s pantry. The family room, like many other rooms in the house, is almost totally white and has a second fireplace. The main floor has a formal dining room, a maid’s bedroom suite, and a lengthy stairway to the upstairs family chambers.
Two folding glass doors lead to the master suite’s balcony. Two walk-in closets and two “couples” bathrooms with different rooms joined by a large glass shower with porthole-style window and multiple showerheads.
