Manchester United is happy to say that Omar Berrada has been named as its new CEO.
The Club wants to make football and the way we play on the field the most important things in everything we do. Making an appointment for Omar is the first step on this path.
Omar is one of the most experienced football directors at the top level of European football. He brings a lot of football and business knowledge to the table, as well as a track record of good leadership and a strong desire to help bring about change across the Club. He was in top positions at Barcelona before becoming Chief Football Operations Officer for City Football Group, where he is in charge of 11 clubs in five countries.
Our stated goal is to make Manchester United a title-winning club again. We’re glad Omar will be joining us to help us reach that goal, so United fans can once again “see the red flag flying high at the top of English, European, and world football,” as Sir Matt Busby put it.
The date that Omar will start will be announced soon. In the meantime, Patrick Stewart will remain as temporary CEO.
