The latest big name to be linked with Manchester United is forward Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid. However, the Brazil international has said in the past that a return to Flamengo would be his only way to leave the Bernabeu.
In his early years, the forward played for Rio de Janeiro. When he turned 18, he moved to Madrid. With more than 20 goals in each of the last two seasons, he has scored 68 goals for Real Madrid. In the 2022 Champions League final, he got the game-winning goal.
Vinicius has a deal to stay in the Spanish city until 2027, so Los Blancos don’t need to cash in right away. But there might be a push to balance the books if Kylian Mbappe joins the club when his deal with Paris Saint-Germain ends in the summer.
United has been linked with a £130 million move, which would be a big move for the club’s first summer window since Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over. The 23-year-old would have to change his mind about what he said before, though, because he had said that going back home was the only way he’d leave his present club.
From the Manchester Evening News: “I think I could stay here my whole career, but Flamengo is the club of my life.” The forward said this in an interview with France Football and L’Equipe last year. “I told my dad I’d come back one day.” I need to keep my word.
“I enjoy living here, and things are going well for my family as well.” Everyone knows my loved ones when they walk by, and they always wish us happiness.
“Little by little, I found a new life, new feelings, and a passion… Madrid is one of a kind.” I hear about this club from people all over the world. Besides that, I like it. I like staying home a lot, but we do a lot of things.
