talkSPORT understands that Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is training alone amidst rumors regarding his future with the club.
The French forward, who has been incapacitated with illness since their December 12 loss to Bayern Munich, is attempting to recover his fitness.
The club’s policy is that players returning from layoffs must train alone; therefore, Martial’s decision to train alone at Carrington was not coerced.
However, it is acknowledged that Martial’s recovery effort and the number of games he misses are causes for concern.
Despite the fact that his contract is set to expire in June and the Red Devils are seeking to trade him in January, the player is not reportedly in a hurry to depart.
In the summer of 2015, Martial was acquired from Monaco for £36 million as a 19-year-old, making him the most expensive adolescent in the world at the time.
Despite a promising debut at Old Trafford in September 2015 when he scored a goal in Manchester United’s victory over Liverpool, his tenure with the club has fallen short of what Manchester United supporters had hoped for.
He has scored 90 goals in 317 appearances during his eighteen-and-a-half years with the club, but has only won the FA Cup, League Cup, and Europa League.
Earlier this month, talkSPORT reported that Manchester United are eager to transfer Anthony Martial but have a difficult time doing so.
There is a lack of interest from clubs in signing the 28-year-old, as he failed to receive a single substantial offer during the summer transfer window.
