Toni Kroos, a star player for Real Madrid, is likely to hear more boos in the Spanish Suρer Cup final against Barcelona after making fans even more angry in Saudi Arabia.
After coming on as a replacement in the second half of Thursday’s epic 5-3 win over fierce rivals Atletico Madrid, Kroos was jeered at every touch of the ball by the Saudi crowd. He had earlier said that the country’s transfer activity is “ruining football.” Superstars like Karim Benzema, Neymar, Sadio Mane, and younger stars like former Wolves star Ruben Neves followed Cristiano Ronaldo to play in the Saudi Pro League.
During the summer transfer window, Kroos told Sports Illustrated, “Everyone has to make this choice for themselves. Cristiano Ronaldo chose to do so near the end of his career.” It’s hard to deal with, though, when players in the middle of their careers who are good enough to play for the best clubs in Europe decide to switch teams.
Then it’s said that going there is a bold sports choice, but the trutҺ is that it’s all about the money. At the end of the day, it comes down to money and sports. After that, things start to get tough for the sport we all love.
The German player then said that “the one thing that would stop him from making such a move” is that people don’t have proper rights in Saudi Arabia. Also, Kroos wrote “embarrassing” on an Instagram post about Gabri Veiga’s move to Al-Ahli, 21-year-old Spanish star player.
This week, the former Bayern Munich player had nowhere to hide when he helped Real Madrid beаt their cross-city rivals, setting up a match with Barcelona on Sunday. Being booed in Riyadh made Kroos tweet, “That was fun today!” With love heart eyes, they wrote, “Amazing crowd.”
Ronaldo might be in the stands this Sunday when Real Madrid plays their old rivals Barcelona. On Thursday, Barcelona beаt Osasuna 2-0. Starting with the 2019–20 season, the Spanish Suρer Cup has been held in Saudi Arabia. This move is still being criticized by La Liga fans and human rights activists.
