Anthony Davis: Lakers Can’t Make ‘Excuses’ & Must Do ‘Whatever It Takes To Win’

During December, the Los Angeles Lakers had a lot of reasons to be struggling: they had a very tough road schedule and a lot of illness on the team.

January was meant to help with some of that, especially the travel, but the Lakers lost to the Miami Heat, who didn’t have Jimmy Butler available, even though Anthony Davis played another great game.

Davis scored 29 points, grabbed 17 boards, passed the ball six times, and blocked five shots. However, the Lakers shot a terrible 42.2 percent from the field and 13.3 percent from 3-point range in their 14-point loss.

Anthony Davis: Lakers Can't Make 'Excuses' & Must Do 'Whatever It Takes To Win'The Lakers are now below 500 and just barely making it into the Play-In Tournament, and Davis doesn’t think the team has any good reasons.

“Whatever it takes to win,” Davis said when asked about the message in the Lakers’ locker room. To get back into the win column, every game for us should feel like a must-win, especially this homestand. From there, we can build on it.

“We won’t have an easy time. We need to figure it out because we have some great teams coming up. When it comes to defense, our guys are paying attention to the film, our people, and what to do in coverages. Things seem to have slipped up a lot in those focus areas, and you can see it on the floor.

Lakers' ineptitude continues, with no letup in sight - Los Angeles TimesThe Lakers’ аttаck and defense have both been terrible. Davis thinks the team isn’t putting in enough work or following through, so they need to figure out how to fix things.

“Right now it’s a mix of things.” “We are not carrying out,” he said. “That team worked harder, used their skills better, and was more physical than us tonight.” Tonight, they worked harder than us. Right now it’s a mix of things.

It won’t be good for us if we keep going in this direction. That being said, it’s pretty clear that we need to find it out soon. It’s not okay for guys to be out. That’s not an excuse for us.

Lakers vs. Heat Final Score: Heat defeat Lakers despite Anthony Davis - Silver Screen and RollThe Lakers have enough good players on their team to do much better than they have so far this season. Davis thinks that some players are down because they are having trouble scoring, but he also thinks that everyone needs to find another way to contribute when they aren’t shooting.

“Going up against. When asked what the Lakers could do to get things back on track, Davis said, “Every possession.” “It’s clear that making shots will help. If shots aren’t going, though, I think we’re a little too hard оn the guys, which makes things more difficult for them on the next play, whether they’re on offense or defense. That will help, but we still need to go out and figҺt.

“Just put it all on the floor.” Do the little things that get you going… That being said, I believe there are small things that will help us get back into a flow with our shooting and also give us a little extra energy on defense. Nothing is going on at the moment on both ends.

“Deep disconnect” between Darvin Ham and the Lakers players?

As always happens when a team is having a bad season like the Lakers are, stories start to spread. The most recent one makes head coach Darvin Ham look bad.

Lakers' road troubles follow them home in sloppy loss to Heat – Orange County RegisterA recent report says that there is a “deepening disconnect” between the players and Ham. This is mostly because of the frequent team and rotation changes, which make it hard for players to get into a flow.

Ham might not be able to keep his job if things don’t get better soon.
