For both teams, the first quarter was a complete mess. This game was not pretty at all, even though the Heat kept a seven-point lead.
It was another bad quarter for the Lakers when it came to mistakes, but Max made a 3-pointer to stop the flow for a little while. Both teams played bad basketball for most of the second quarter. The Heat kept the lead, and the Lakers were still in the game even though they weren’t playing well.
AD finally scored some points after a very slow start, but it wasn’t enough because the Heat were on fire and stretched their lead to ten points. The Lakers got going quickly, with AD leading the way by passing the ball to Austin. Austin then passed it back to AD for a dunk that slowed down the Heat a bit. Max scored 10 points off the bench for the Lakers in the first half, but it didn’t matter because the Heat were ahead 53–45 at halftime.
