The Los Angeles Lakers were expected to win the title going into the season, and they made that even more likely by winning the first In-Season Tournament. But the Lakers have lost all of their recent games, even though Anthony Davis has been playing great. They now have a.500 record.
They have lost three of their last eleven games and are currently tenth in the Play-In Tournament standings for the playoffs.
The Lakers need to fix a few things to get their season back on track and move up in the ratings. One of those problems is that their home and away results don’t match up. On the road this season, the Lakers are 6-13, while at home they are 11-4. They lost 2-6 of their last 8 games when they were on the road.
Davis knows the Lakers need to get better when they’re away from home. But first, he wants to make the most of a long run of home games, which you can watch on Spectrum SportsNet:
“Important. Up until now, we’ve done pretty well at home. Now it’s our turn to make the most of it. We’ve had a rough time on the road. Now we can sleep in our beds, not think about getting somewhere, use our resources, exercise, and let the guys get fit. Making this farm a good one will be very important for us, and we must make the most of it.
From Wednesday to January 25, the Lakers play 10 at-home games and 2 away games. One of their two road games is against the Los Angeles Clippers. They will only leave L.A. once more in the next three weeks, on January 13, when they play the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.
This should be a fresh start for the Lakers, who have been having a hard time putting together good games, and a chance for them to rest after playing so many road games. Even though Davis has been playing very well lately, this gives him a chance to rest better in between great games.
Davis and Taurean Prince both talked about how excited the Lakers are to be able to play at home for a long time.
