Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that the club will not add a new center back in January.
Because David Alaba tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee last month against Villarreal, the 64-year-old had said that Real Madrid would look to sign a new defender in the winter transfer window.
The Athletic said earlier that Real Madrid might look to add a center-back in January, but Ancelotti has now ruled that out, saying that his team has enough strength to get through the rest of the season.
He stated, “Right now we are not thinking about signing a center back because we are missing two important ones. However, we have two others in Aurelien Tchouameni and Dani Carvajal that we have a lot of faith in, and they can do well in an emerge𝚗cy.”
“I sаy it again: yes. We’re not going to get a center back.
Last month, it was revealed that Ancelotti had signed a new deal with Real Madrid that would keep him there until 2026.
The Italian’s current contract was set to end next summer, and there was a lot of doubt about his future in 2023 because he was linked to a job in Brazil.
Ancelotti said he had talked to Brazil about managing their national team, but he would not change his mind about staying in Madrid.
“Very happy with the renewal,” he said. “It was pretty easy. We just agreed on our own, with no problems. It went by very quickly. Very happy and excited to keep coaching Real Madrid for another two years.
“The trutҺ is that everyone, including Madrid, knows that I’ve been in touch with Ednaldo Rodrigues, the former president of the Brazilian federation. He’s made me very proud, but he knows what happened in Madrid.” Things have changed in the last few months so Ednaldo is no longer the head of the Brazilian national team.
I want to be a teacher until 2026, and if possible, until 2027 or 2028. I want to stay in Madrid because I like it.
Real Madrid is currently in first place in La Liga. They play Mallorca this week, which is their next game.
As promised by Ancelotti, several hurt players will be back in the next month. In other news, Carvajal will start at right back in Wednesday’s game.
He said, “We want to get off to a good start for this new part of the season.” At the last meeting, we got good news: the people who aren’t coming back are getting close. Vini Junior is back, as are Carvajal, Arda Guler, Forest Mendy, and Eduardo Camavinga. They will all be back next week.
“Carvajal will play right away. As for Vinicius, I haven’t made up my mind yet because he has shown that he is healthy. Guler is back after being away for a while. The three can’t be compared.
