Following a sluggish start to the season, Luka Modric has successfully integrated into the revamped Real Madrid midfield system, which is guided by new acquisition Jude Bellingham.
Early in the season, the Croat struggled for playing time due to Carlo Ancelotti’s predilection for youngsters, including Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni.
However, after a string of ιnjury setbacks, Real Madrid has reestablished confidence in Modric. Since joining the league, the midfielder has started five of his last six contests.
Modric has received MLS and Saudi Arabian proposals
It is common knowledge that despite his renewed participation in the first team, Luis Modric’s time with Real Madrid is coming to an end.
As 2024 approaches, it appears that the midfielder has received offers from both the MLS and Saudi Arabia in light of this.
This has been reported by Diario AS, although the Spanish news publication has not mentioned any club names
Decision time for Modric?
For the large part of the last two years, Modric has resisted the idea of leaving Real Madrid and has not succumbed to lucrative offers from elsewhere.
The Croat had notably rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia last season, which would have paid him €200 million in three years.
But with the midfielder’s contract expiring at the end of the season, it is time for Modric to make a decision.
As mentioned earlier, Real Madrid has started to put their faith in the young breed of midfielders, which has dwindled the game-time of not only Modric but his fellow veteran midfielder Toni Kroos.
The offers from Saudi Arabia or MLS, therefore, will appear much more lucrative for Modric, who is likely playing his last season at the Bernabeu this term.
