Love may be free, but this lavish LA mansion of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck costs up to $42.5M
This lavish Los Angeles mansion is expensive, but love is free! According to The Wall Street Journal, Jennifer Lopez’s sprawling Bel Air estate has been listed for $42.5 mιllιon, $14.5 mιllιon more than she paid actress Sela Ward for it in spring 2016.
The listing, held by Brett Lawyer of Carolwood Estates, describes the property as a “masterful one-of-a-kind multi-structure French Country refuge” designed by Samuel Marx and erected in 1940.
The creamy stucco and wood-accented structure, hidden behind a gated driveway on an 8-acre parcel minutes from the Bel Air Hotel, has nine bedrooms and 13 baths in 12,800 square feet of living space that leads to enormous terraces. A guest cabin, gym, 100-seat amphitheater, pagoda with fire-pit, putting green, infinity-edge pool and spa, and private lake with sandy beach are also available.
A double-height living room with a fireplace, wet bar, and curving wrought-iron staircase, formal dining room, wood-paneled library, and gourmet kitchen with a stone fireplace and small breakfast nook are among highlights. A large family/game room has another wet bar, the lower level has a luxurious movie theater, and the upstairs master bedroom wing has a fireplace, library/sitting room, and two dressing rooms and showers.
Lopez and her actor husband Ben Affleck, who sold his Palisades bachelor pad in October for $28.5 mιllιon, had planned to renovate and live in her Bel Air mansion after they were married six months ago, according to TMZ, but they are now renting in Beverly Hills and looking for a marital home again. They also own a New York City penthouse, Hamptons residence, and Encino cottage.
