Justin Upton, a former MLB outfielder, is trying to find a buyer for his opulent Orange County house.
Before becoming a free agent in 2022, Upton played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, and Los Angeles Angels. He is asking $6,795,000 for the five-bedroom house, which is located in a desirable part of the infamously expensive Newport Beach. According to listing agent Annie Clougherty of Compass, “the Dover Shores area is highly desirable due to its location in Mariners School District, which is a blue ribbon school nearby.” As a result of many purchasers moving to Newport Beach, prices are maintaining steady and demand is high in this location.
And despite the upscale neighborhood in which it is located, Justin Upton’s home boasts a number of distinctive elements. “Finished basements and subterranean levels are very rare in this area, most commonly referred to as Dover Shores,” says Annie.
The spectacular, completely livable completed entertainer’s basement is a highlight of Upton’s home. Unique features include a three-story floating staircase with three-inch treads and floors made of 100-year-old turned wood.

The polished interiors of the home, which was originally created by Randall Coombs Architects and redesigned by Scottsdale-based DeCesare Design Group, include rich solid oak hardwood floors that were meticulously milled from 125-year-old reclaimed barnwood, large sliding door systems that open to the outdoor areas, and numerous other opulent finishes.
The chef’s kitchen, which features top-tier Thermador equipment set against custom butcher blocks and lava stone worktops, is the focal point of the open floor layout of the house. Floor to ceiling sliding doors from the main living room open to an outdoor deck with built-in grill and fire pit.
