Kim Kardashian, a businesswoman, reality personality, and style icon, is no stranger to accessorizing her cars to go with her clothes or certain looks for specific events. She’s done it many times; the most noteworthy being the time she covered a Lamborghini Urus in the boucle fabric from her Skims line, both inside and out, or the time she received a neon green Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4 Squared since the color matched her favorite wig at the time.
It was an incredibly momentous occasion when she made an appearance at the new Swarovski launch this week at the flagship store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, New York City. A new collection of high-end clothing and undergarments adorned with a billion crystals was created by Her Skims underwear company in collaboration with the Austrian jeweler as a “celebration of strong, independent women.”
Kim became a billionaire thanks to the Skims brand, so when Giovanna Engelbert, the creative director of Swarovski, contacted out for a partnership, she felt this was her chance to break into the upscale market. Her presence at the function, complete with a specially designed two-piece outfit from Swarovski and a car tailored just for her, matched the significance of the occasion.
The car was a typical New York City cab, covered in a chrome wrap and encrusted with crystals that complemented Kim’s chain top and skirt. Given its appearance, it appeared to be an earlier model Lincoln Town Car, which was one of the last full-size American luxury vehicles and, as such, a perfect fit for the event.
Not only were the wheels and the new “S” insignia that replaced the Lincoln one on the cascading grill coated with stones, but the entire body of the automobile was covered in crystals. The same “S” is used on the new Skims goods in place of the recognizable Swarovski swan. They put a “Kim K” vanity plate and swapped the stock cab top sign out for a personalized one.
The custom ride’s biggest feature was how it shimmered as photographers’ flashes went off, making for an unforgettable arrival.
For the unveiling, Swarovski really commissioned three distinct cars—two for Kim and one for her friends—as Kim disclosed in a tale posted on social media. Hers was the most ornate, and based on the short video she posted, the other two simply had crystals on the wheel covers and the outside edges.
We contacted Swarovski to inquire further about the personalized rides and discover whether there were any additional changes made, but most likely this was only a minor aesthetic adjustment that was undone immediately following the occasion. However, this crystal automobile is far more opulent when compared to other well-known pumpkin-transforming rides. This promotional vehicle is flawlessly executed!
