Shaquille O’Neal is employing an unconventional method to sell his residence.
The former professional basketball player, aged 47, revealed his intention to sell his mansion situated in the Bell Canyon neighborhood of Los Angeles through an Instagram post on Monday. In the post, he shared the real estate listing of the luxurious house and presented a video tour of the property.
In the caption, he stated, “I’m putting up my residence in Bell Canyon, CA, for sale.”
Spanning across 5,217 square feet on an acre of land, the property comprises five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, as per O’Neal’s description.
Describing the property, he mentioned, “This residence is positioned in an exclusive cul-de-sac, providing a sense of privacy. The design encompasses an open floor plan featuring a two-story foyer that leads to a formal living room with vaulted beam ceilings, all crafted on porcelain flooring. The house also features a chef’s kitchen.”
O’Neal went on to detail the kitchen’s features, which include “marble countertops, custom cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances.”
He elaborated on the layout, mentioning, “The first level encompasses a family room, dining room, wine closet, wet bar, media room, laundry room, office, and a bedroom. On the upper level, you’ll find the master bedroom along with three additional bedrooms.”
The property’s location is within walking distance of a community center, gym, and tennis court.
He concluded by mentioning the price, stating, “It can become yours for $2.5M.” He also provided an email address for “serious buyers” to use for further inquiries.
Nestled within a gated community, the modern residence showcases an open design that showcases some of Shaq’s basketball accomplishments and artwork commemorating his time with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Noteworthy, is his tribute to Notorious B.I.G. located in the foyer, and a painting dedicated to the late rapper Nipsey Hussle adorning the formal living room with its vaulted, beamed ceilings.
Further nods to Hussle are present in the second living room adjacent to the kitchen, which features marble countertops, custom cabinetry, and stainless-steel appliances.
A more intimate den area boasts a fireplace and a painting of 2Pac.
The backyard of the house is richly appointed with a heated pool and jacuzzi, in addition to a fire pit and outdoor seating.
Constructed in 1990, O’Neal purchased the residence for $1,815,000 in 2018, according to available records. Although he initially listed it on the market in November 2019, he didn’t personally promote the sale on social media back then.
The reason for the athlete’s decision to now advertise the sale on his Instagram remаins uncertain.
The listing is being managed by Emil Hartoonian and Nicholas Siegfried of The Agency.
